I specialize in coaching athletes who are preparing for multi-day backcountry adventures, as well as mountain and gravel cyclists, hikers, trail runners, rock climbers, kayakers, and backcountry skiers. With extensive experience in all these sports, including 13 years as a professional mountain biker, I bring a deep understanding of the unique demands of these activities.

If you’re brand new to all this, I can help you go from cautious to confident, using tangible tools and strategies to create salient results that boost your belief in yourself and your adventure capabilities.

My personal athletic background has focused on self-supported bikepack racing and multisport expedition pursuits, combining long-distance exploration by bike, packraft, skis, and foot over weeks to months in wild places around the world. I’m a multipassionate adventurer at heart, having spent many years rock climbing and ski mountaineering, and my obsession over the past few years has been improving my skills as a whitewater boater (and managing lots of fear along the way!). I deeply understand what it takes to stay healthy, strong, and both physically and mentally fit to perform in whatever adventure I feel most inspired to seek out next, and I’d love to help you do the same.

I offer two distinct coaching options designed to fit your goals, lifestyle, and budget. Each program is built to help you enhance endurance, strength, agility, mobility, and mindset —essential elements for any adventure sport athlete. Adventure Performance Coaching

For those who want a hands-on, dynamic approach, my one-to-one coaching service offers a comprehensive, personalized training plan plus much more. This option provides consistent support and guidance, ensuring you stay on track and adjust as needed. Here’s what you get:

  • Weekly Updated Training Plans: As you progress, your plan evolves. I’ll update your training regimen weekly based on your performance and feedback, keeping you challenged and motivated.

  • Flexibility For Your Lifestyle: I’m not the type of coach who’s going to be disappointed if you need to switch up your workout schedule or skip a day here and there. I understand that training is only one part of a well-rounded life, and the keys to sustainability and avoiding burnout are flexibility, variety, and fun! We’ll make sure you have plenty.

  • Asynchronous Communication: Stay connected with me via text and audio/video messaging. Whether you have questions, need motivation, or want to share a victory, I’m just a message away. We can refine your strategy, adjust your goals, and address any challenges you’re facing.

  • As-Needed Coaching Calls: When we need to have dialogue beyond our ongoing asynchronous communication, we can jump on a call. This need will differ from person to person: for some folks it makes sense to touch base on the phone every month (between training blocks); for some it makes more sense to do it surrounding a race or backcountry trip and use asynchronous communication the rest of the time. This program is designed to work with your already-full life!

  • Video Assessment: Send videos of your techniques or alignment, and I’ll provide expert feedback to help you improve and avoid injury.

  • Comprehensive Intake Session: Your journey begins with a 60-minute Zoom session. This includes a detailed interview to talk about your goals, needs, lifestyle, schedule, and training resources, and a movement screen to identify and correct any imbalances that might hinder your progress.

This premium service is perfect for those who want a fully personalized, high-touch coaching experience. With ongoing support, you’ll not only achieve your goals but exceed them, confidently tackling every adventure that comes your way.

Personalized Training Plan

This option is perfect for those who prefer a structured, self-guided approach with expert design. You’ll receive a customized three or six month training plan tailored to your specific needs, goals, and available resources. Here’s what’s included:

  • Endurance, Strength, Agility, Mobility & Mindset Focus: Your plan will cover all aspects of your training, ensuring you’re well-prepared for the physical and psychological demands of your adventure sport.

  • Personalized Intake Interview: We’ll start with an intake interview where I’ll learn about your goals, needs, lifestyle, and schedule. This ensures your plan is perfectly aligned with your ambitions and resources.

  • Cost-Effective Guidance: Get expert plan design without the ongoing commitment of accountability and connection. You’ll have everything you need to succeed at a price that fits your budget.

  • Ask questions if needed: While this plan doesn’t include coaching, if you have a burning question you can reach out. If it’s something that needs more than a quick response, we can book a 30 minute call at a discounted rate of $75 (usually $100).

This option is ideal for motivated athletes who want a clear, personalized path to follow on their own.

What is the investment for coaching?

  • 1:1 Coaching ranges from $300-600/month depending on your needs and desires for your coaching experience.

  • Personalized training plans cost $375 for a 3 month plan or $750 for a 6 month plan. not currently offered, returning in spring 2025

  • Sliding scale coaching spots are available on a limited basis, please see my Pricing page for details and inquire if you are interested in this option.

  • No-fee payment plans and sliding scale options are also available for training plans.

Specialty Service: Gait Analysis & Training for Runners

Who it’s for: If you’re a runner or aspiring runner who wants to ensure your running gait is efficient, effective, and optimized to prevent injuries, this service is for you. It’s also for you if you’re a runner dealing with injury and you’ve never had a specific gait assessment and training by a qualified physical therapist. Especially if you’re putting in longer miles, if you’re dealing with overuse injury or pain, it’s likely your gait has something to do with it.

How it works:

Step 1: You send me a video/videos of yourself running on a treadmill from multiple angles. (If you absolutely cannot access a treadmill, send me a note and I’ll walk you through how to do it without one — but a treadmill is ideal.) I spend time analyzing your gait and movement, checking for imbalances and misalignments as well as evaluating for optimization.

Step 2: Then, we get on a Zoom call and I go over my assessment with you as we look at your gait videos together. Based on what I saw in your gait analysis, I’ll likely want to do some additional movement testing when we’re on video.

Step 3: In the second part of our session, I’ll give you recommendations for adjusting your gait, a plan to carry those recommendations out in a way that facilitates sustainable change and doesn’t cause injury, and any corrective exercises that might be relevant to help you during this process. We’ll likely be on the call for around 45-60ish minutes depending on how much we need to go over.

Step 4: After we say goodbye, I’ll put together a recap of my recommendations and gait training/corrective exercise plan for you, and you’ll also get a recording of our video session for your reference.

Investment for this service is $300. Sliding scale pricing may be available, please ask.
